What are mimiTENS™?
They are children’s mittens that stay on with no strings attached. Our mittens feature long, stretchy cuffs that reach the elbow. From the fabrics to the embroidery every aspect of our mittens has been carefully considered.
mimiTENS™ come in two styles; SOFT and ALL WEATHER.
mimiTENS™ SOFT are made entirely of bamboo/organic cotton material. The mittens is an Oeko Tex certified fleece and the cuff is a bamboo/cotton/lycra blend. Our SOFT mittens are made for babies up to 18 months. They feature our adorable embroideries of animals - owls, squirrels, elephants, among others.
mimiTENS™ SOFT are the ideal gift for a newborn child because they are so very useful.
mimiTENS™ ALL WEATHER are meant for colder climates. They are made of water-repellent nylon and lined with Thinsulate insulation as well as Oeko Tex certified bamboo/organic cotton fleece.
mimiTENS™ ALL WEATHER are available in sizes ranging from up to 18 months all the way to 5 years old.
mimiTENS™ and smartpretty products are MADE IN CANADA because it is the right thing to do.
All mimiTENS and smartpretty mittens are produced in Canadian factories known for their excellence in making winter gear. Through our manufacturing partners, we supports safe working environments and provides respectable wages. mimiTENS and smartpretty are proud to create work in Canada.

What are smartpretty mittens?
smartpretty is a collection of ladies mittens and leather accessories that came to be because one of the things that I heard most often was ‘You should make mittens for grown ups’.
Drawing inspiration from the elongated cuffs that make mimiTENS the best mini-mittens around, the smartpretty collection is in fact a happy system that gives ladies very attractive options.
Each pair of smartpretty mittens comes with a complementary set of Soft Sleeves. You can choose to wear the Soft Sleeves or the mittens alone or even pair them together for a gracious and practical way to manage the cold.
The smartpretty collection offers ladies three styles of mittens: Everyday Excellent, ‘…of my dreams’ and ‘Very Fine’. All smartpretty mittens are lined with Thinsulate and luscious Oeko-Tex certified bamboo/cotton fleece.
Everyday Excellent – Sharp coloured mittens made of water repellent nylon. Choose from red, black, royal and purple.
‘…of my dreams’ – featuring dreamy photographs of pretty things we like, feathers, sparkly brooches and quirky crystals. Also made of water repellent nylon.
Very Fine -- Exquisite leather mittens that you will treasure for years.
Soft Sleeves -- push up your trench coat sleeves and slip these beauties on. From your elbows to your fingers, you are covered in merino wool.
Handcuffs – These are the simplest accessory that somehow, make every lady feel just a little more chic. Fine lambskin is trimmed with braided suede piping and lined with deluxe Bemberg. Quite irresistible.
What is your returns policy?
mimiTENS and smartpretty will happily accept defective merchandise. While we have every confidence in our products, sometime things go unexpectedly wrong – especially when you are making something a few thousand at a time. If your mittens come apart at the seams or something else lame, please contact us and let us know.
Who owns mimiTENS and smartpretty?
Both companies are owned and operated by Anna-Maria Mountfort – a Toronto-based woman with a lot on her plate. I am now going to stop talking about myself in the third person. I am thirty-seven. I am married with two kids. I really like my family.
I started mimiTENS because I thought it was a good idea and I like working on projects. smartpretty was started because of similar reasons and truthfully, this collection lights me up.
If you are reading this, it might be because you have an idea and you are interested in getting going. Do it! It is likely going to be a lot of hard work – whatever you are dreaming of - but you can do it.
