Anna-Maria Mountfort's line of mittens for kids are designed and made in her hometown of Toronto. She came up with the design to stop her daughter from losing her mittens in the freezing Canadian weather. The mittens have a long knit sleeve that keeps them on and makes them extra soft inside.

Toddlers have no respect for mittens. They chuck them into snow banks as they are carried papoose style through Toronto. They toss them dispassionately from moving strollers as they reach out for a passing dog. Parents, ever patient, grit their teeth and smile, frustrated at the loss of yet another pair of mittens.

I can never figure out how to keep my child's hands warm during the winter. he is always ripping mittens off and then proceeds to freak out since his hands are freezing.
